Who is the WNYYMBL?

WNYYMBL is dedicated to the proper development of our youth. Our intention is to serve all youth. Our immediate target population has been youth within the Muslim community as charity begins at home, and because the threat they are confronted with is the most urgent at this time. However our services can extend to any and all who apply for them. So, in a sense, WNYYMBL can be all of us.

Although WNYYMBL is more than sports, we have achieved great success with developing our youth because we have realized that children (and adults) want to play. So we have designed a developmental program that emphasizes and develops academic progress while rewarding the yearn to play. We mentor, tutor and play a season of competitive basketball (for eligible students only). This is called our Yearlong Youth Development Program. WNYYMBL would also like to recognize and thank all of our teams who are not participating this year, their players and the coaches, whose presence over the years helped to make us who we are today.

Academic Initiative & Mentoring (A.I.M.) Program

The A.I.M. program is us making good on our commitment to developing the whole student by working with his family, school staff, employer and peers. Our local partnerships span multiple counties and includes partnerships with the Buffalo William-Emslie Y, Rochester Willie Lightfoot R-Center, ESL Credit Union, Dataview Consulting and the Cleveland Cavaliers – https://www.nba.com/cavaliers/youth.

Blast from the Past

In 2018, WNYYMBL announced the fourth year of its academic tutoring program known as A.I.M. or academic initiative & mentoring. Some of what we have accomplished for our youth can be found on our social media sites such as our YouTube channel, Instagram and FaceBook page. We are happy to continue forging ahead in the right direction with the well-being of the next generation in mind.
